Zona Rosa Sprinklers

We joined Moms group this week at the Zona Rosa Sprinklers! I was unsure how Brooklyn would do, but overall she did pretty well! After showing her what to do she walked right over to one and laughed when it sprayed her!!

I just love her in a little hat! Too bad it didn't last for long!

Love this picture of her getting sprayed!!

After a few minutes, she wanted to go "bye-bye".  I told her we were staying for a while longer and she got mad.  I brought a blanket and some snacks, so I asked her if she wanted to sit and have a snack.  Of course she did! We watched the other kids and I talked with some moms!

She had to have paci and lovie before she would get back out there-but I didn't let her get lovie wet.

Saying "hi" and waving to a little girl! She loves saying "hi" to kids that are bigger than her!

Brooklyn kept saying "bye-bye".  I finally asked her what she wanted to do when we went bye-bye and she said "Bah" which means "Barney"! I about lost it.  This girl wanted to go bye bye so she could sit in the car and watch Barney.  I don't think so! Maybe this is a sign I shouldn't turn the car tv on EVERY TIME we go somewhere.

After convincing Brooklyn to say a little longer, we headed home and made a McDonald's stop on the way home! This girl loves her some chicken nuggets and apples! Apples are her favorite thing out of the happy meal!

She found out the happy meal box could be fun! Some days we just get a bag for happy meal but this time we got a box!
Hat?!?!

Where is Brooklyn?

silly girl!

There she is!!

Brooklyn- 19 Months

On June 26, 2013 Brooklyn turned 19 months old! WOW!!

She is getting so smart!! It is amazing how much she soaks in, she is a little sponge! And, a little parrot! Everything I say she tries to repeat! It is so funny and cute! My new favorite word that she says is gymnastics, she pronounces it like "nastics."! Too cute!! I also really love how she says naked! She loves just walking around in her diaper! She calls it "nake-y"!

She loves to learn! When I sit down to teach her something she will patiently sit with me, look at me when I talk to her and absorb everything I am saying! She loves her shapes! Whenever she sees a circle she will proudly and loudly yell "CIRCLE".  No matter where we are, circles are her favorite! Her favorite letter is "O" with "B" being a close second.  Just with the circles, if she sees an "O" she will let you know! There for awhile circles became "O's" but she is back to telling the difference.  It is amazing she knows to call it an "O" when it is with other letters, when there are no other letters around she says "circle".

This girl LOVES tv just like her daddy! Some days is makes me crazy, other days it is my lifesaver, but then I feel guilty for letting her watch too much.  Barney is a favorite-especially in the car.  I started the car TV way too early.  We can't go anywhere without watching Barney.  This girl is going to be getting headphones soon-I miss my radio!

She loves Sesame Street but would rather read the books than watch the show! She used to be obsessed with Elmo but now Ernie is a favorite! I finally found a Bert and Ernie figurine to go with her other Sesame Street figurines and she is in love.  I love how she says "Ernie" too!

Her vocabulary amazes me every day! She is starting to put two words together.  She will say a word, pause for a second and then say another word after it.  Ex: "mama"...."stairs" for Mama go upstairs.  Smart little girl!

I just love her more and more every day! I can't believe she is 19 months old! WOW!!

Baby #2-Weeks 24 and 25

Weeks 24 and 25

How Far Along: 25 weeks
Total Weight Gain: I don't know! I DO NOT get on the scale at home.  I would say around 20 pounds!
Maternity Clothes: Yes and no! Athletic pants/shorts I can still wear and I wear big tshirts around the house and to bed.  Everything else is maternity!
Favorite Moment This Week: picking a date to paint the nursery! We have decided we are going to paint Brooklyn's room too! Ben doesn't think it's fair to paint the nursery and not have Brooklyn's room painted-ha! Also, Miss Molly received her first gifts from The Moylan family! Everything is beautiful!!
Gender: Girl! Molly Kate
Movement: YES! This girl moves ALL the time! She is very active compared to Brooklyn!
Food Cravings: anything and everything! I am hungry all the time!
What I Miss: Brooklyn sitting comfortably on my lap.  She tries so hard to lean back and get cozy with me, but it just doesn't work-makes me sad!
Sleep: OK! The past 2 nights I have only been up twice to use the restroom! yay!
What I Am Looking Forward To: Making progress in the nursery!
Symptoms: I am starting to get a little heartburn every once in a while, nothing major! And, my ankles are starting to swell if I stand for too long-thanks to the hot weather!
Belly Button: It has officially popped out!
Next Dr. Appt: Monday, July 8

Picture Time!
24 weeks:

Brooklyn was in bed when we took the 24 week pictures, so there are none of her for this weeks photo shoot!

25 Weeks: ( I didn't take a 25 week picture when pregnant with Brooklyn!)

My silly girl! She loves to go in our room and stand by the door and say cheese!

Staycation!

Before I forget all the details I wanted to quickly blog about the staycation Ben and I took.

It was a great weekend! Full of food and sleeping! Two of my favorite things!

I had a doctors appointment Friday morning, so my mom came over then and we said good-bye to Brooklyn.  I cried when I was giving her hugs and kisses.  I had never been away from her for more than one overnight, which was really only about 20 hours.  So, over 48 hours and 2 nights away from my baby wasn't going to be easy!

Ben and I went to my doctors appointment, all checked out well with Miss Molly, we headed to Rally House to shop and then to lunch down on Southwest Boulevard at Ponak's! Yummy!! It was a great lunch! I had been craving a big, delicious Mexican meal!

After lunch we headed to the hotel to check in! We stayed at the Westin by Crown Center. We checked in around 1:30.  The first thing I did was change into some comfy clothes and laid on the bed and took a 3 hour nap! It was amazing!! Ben worked a little and then he took a short nap too!

After our nap we got up and headed to dinner at Houston's! I always try to get something new every time I go there because I want to try everything! Ben always gets the French Dip sandwich.  I told him I thought I was going to get the French Dip too! He said he had changed his mind and was going to get the ribs! So, I got the French Dip and he got the ribs! I don't think we are ever going to get anything else! We both LOVED our meals! I keep telling him we have to go back before the baby comes because I want another French Dip! Yum!!

We decided we didn't want dessert from Houston's so we drove to Prairie Village and went to TCBY! Yummy!!

We drove back to our hotel and went to bed!! I got 12 hours of straight sleep!! That has not happened since before Brooklyn was born! It was amazing! I told Ben I felt like a new person and I was in the best mood!!

We went to brunch at Eggtc. We had not been there before and it was delicious!!

Blueberry pancakes and bacon! Yum! I didn't come close to finishing!

That afternoon we went to The Glynn's for a cookout and to see their new house they just built! We didn't stay for dinner.  We headed to the Royals game and ate ballpark food! Yum! ( I told you this staycation was all about eating and sleeping!)

The Royals won! yay! We sat in our normal seats in Diamond Club, but went to get a funnel cake (more food!) and decided to eat it inside the Diamond Club! These were the only pictures I took!

When we got back to our seats outside, I realized I didn't have my sunglasses! I was freaking out! I had Ben run back upstairs/inside and they were sitting on the chair I was in! Glad they were found!

We headed back to the hotel, rented a movie and went to bed!

I didn't sleep in as late Sunday morning, I was too excited to get home to see my baby girl! First we went to eat breakfast at Cascone's in the city market! I had a great breakfast sandwich! We got a few things at the market and headed home!

I was so happy to see my baby girl!

It was a great weekend, but I missed Brooklyn so much! As much as I love the thought of going to the beach for a week just Ben and me, I really don't think I could do it! I could not leave Brooklyn for a week.  It might be a long time before I get my adults only beach vacation, but that is ok-I would rather spend my time with Brooklyn than away from her on the beach!

I wish Ben and I would have taken more pictures, but we didn't! Oh well!

Baby #2-Weeks 21, 22 and 23

Running a little behind, surprise surprise!

Weeks 21, 22 and 23...OOPS!

How Far Along: As I am typing this I am 23 weeks 6 days!
Total Weight Gain: I guess I should not lie...at my doctors appointment last week I had gained 8 pounds in 4 weeks...YIKES!! But, I am justifying it a little, because the doctors appointment before that I only gained 1 pound in 4 weeks, so I am looking at it as a 9 pound gain in 8 weeks...which doesn't sound so bad...
Maternity Clothes: Yes, mostly! They are just much more confortable!
Favorite Moment This Week: Feeling strong movements and kicks! Ben felt her a lot too! Such a special moment when he has his hand on my tummy and she kicks him!
Gender: GIRL! Molly Kate
Movement: YES!
Food Cravings: donuts and vanilla milkshakes-maybe this is why I gained so much weight in 4 weeks! Ha!
What I Miss: Not sleeping through the night
Sleep: Ugh! Getting up SO many times a night to go to the bathroom.  Miss Molly is sitting right on my bladder!
What I am Looking Forward To: Starting on the nursery! I have ordered the crib skirt and that is it so far!
Symptoms: None really except for being very tired!
Belly Button: Starting to work its way out...
Next Dr. Appointment: Monday July 8th

Picture time...I am sad to say I never took a 21 week picture! And, it is safe to say I am A LOT bigger this time around! Crazy to see the comparison!

22 weeks:

my silly girl not wanting to look at the camera!

 23 weeks:

Brooklyn wanted to hold the chalkboard...and cover her face! Miss Independent!

First week of PDO

Brooklyn started PDO (Parent's Day Out) this week! The fall I wanted her to be able to go somewhere that was special to her and someplace the baby doesn't go.  When I signed her up for Fall PDO they told me about their summer session.  It is just the month of June on Tues/Thurs only.  You can choose mornings only or full day.  The morning session is 9:15am-12pm.  Full day is 9:15am-3pm.  I knew that mornings would work best for us! So, I enrolled her for summer hoping to get her adjusted and ready for fall!

I had been dreading drop-off for weeks.  I knew it was going to to bed.  Keep in mind, Brooklyn has been at home with me for the first 18 months of her life.  The only people to watch Brooklyn are her grandmas.  This was a pretty big deal, not only for her but for me too!

I had been telling Brooklyn for the week prior that she was going to go to school, and her teachers name is Mrs. Patty.  I would tell her mommy is going to go bye-bye but you will stay at school and play with new friends and Mrs. Patty.  She seemed to understand a little and would say "Pa" for Patty! So cute! She also started saying "school", "mama...bye-bye".  I was happy she was somewhat understanding!
A special first day of school donut!!

First day came, I was nervous all morning leading up to drop-off.  When we got in parking lot I told Brooklyn she had to leave "lovie" and paci in the car and she could have them after school! She didn't mind leaving them in the car.

She would not cooperate with the chalkboard!

She is obsessed with the letter "O". Anytime she sees it, she has to point it out! Silly!

We walked in, I signed in, opened her classroom door.  Brooklyn just stood there, a little confused, nervous and worried.  I got her to walk all the way in and say hi to everyone! She looked around.  I hung up her bag on her hook, asked her for hugs and kisses, which she didn't give, she went over to the teacher who had fun toys and I walked out the door.  I felt guilty for walking out without her seeing me leave, but I knew it was best.  The minute I walked out the door I started crying.  I was a mess!

I went to get gas and went to the bank.  I called Ben to tell him how drop-off went.  You could tell he was worried/sad also! I decided to go to Target-retail therapy would make me feel better, right?! I got a Starbucks drink and a Target cart and went about my business! I was in Target for over an hour and spent $200.  OOPS!

I went to pick Brooklyn up a little before noon.  She was so happy to see me and I was so happy to see her! I asked the teacher how she did, Patty said she did great! There were a few times when they were in the big playroom, and if Brooklyn was alone playing she would randomly start crying...weird!?! I don't know what that was all about.  Other than that, Patty said she was great!

I was happy...but knew the second day of drop-off was going to be worse than the first...and I was right!!

This morning (Thursday) we did our normal routine at home, I told Brooklyn she was going to school today and we loaded up and headed that way! Brooklyn left lovie and paci in the car and we walked right in! I signed her in, opened the door, in Brooklyn went with a big smile on her face! I hung her bag up and asked for hugs and kisses.  She gave me big hugs and big kisses! The assistant teacher was playing with balls, Brooklyn had a big smile on her face and ran over to her! At that exact moment Mrs. Patty said "I love it when they come in with big smiled on their faces!" OOPS! Mrs. Patty spoke too soon! As she was saying that I was walking toward the door and right when Mrs. Patty got done saying that Brooklyn saw me at the door and ran over crying and screaming "Mama".  UGH!! Mama guilt at it's finest! I told Brooklyn I loved her, Mrs. Patty picked her up and out the door I went while listening to my child cry and scream "Mama".  Instant tears for me! Wow! That was bad.  I cried all the way home!

I got a lot done while at home by myself.  It was weird.  I kept finding myself being quiet and wanting to look at the video monitor.  I kept thinking Brooklyn was home and was just asleep!

I went to pick Brooklyn up.  This time I got there right at noon, on Tuesday I was there a few minutes early and was the first mom to pick her up! I walked in the door, didn't hear any crying and was happy! In the 30 seconds it took me to sign her out and open her classroom door I could hear her crying and saying "mama". OH NO! My baby has been crying off and on all morning!

I walked in and she was happy to see me! She stopped crying and started playing with toys.  The teachers told me that she just started crying when other moms were coming to pick up their kids.  Brooklyn is too smart, and she saw other kids leaving and was wondering where I was.  I think I will pick-up a few minutes early from now on!

I was talking with the teachers and asked how she did, they said she didn't cry for long at all this morning! She loved playing outside-of course! While I was talking Brooklyn was just in my arms crying! I don't know why! I honestly think she was mad at me or remembered that I left her that morning and her emotions were coming back! Silly girl! I asked her to stop crying and say "bye" to Mrs. Patty and to blow her a kiss.  Brooklyn immediately stopped crying said bye and blew her kisses! That made me feel good, I think she likes Mrs. Patty!

I didn't plan on this becoming a short novel, but there is the re-cap of Brooklyn's first week of PDO! Drop-off can only get better, right?!
