Molly-4 Months

Time just keeps flying by. It really is true that life goes faster with 2 kids. I thought things went fast with Brooklyn, but we are in double time with Molly I feel like. Slow down. Molly is such a good baby! It is so funny because looking back when Brooklyn was a baby and the only child, we thought she was hard at times. Molly has never been hard, it is my toddler who is hard. No baby blues here, but toddler blues? Yes! Enough about Brooklyn-let's shine some light on my second child, who already lacks attention from me; cue-mommy guilt. Miss Molly, you are a CHUB!! You have the best rolls, the cutest cheeks and the best little smile there ever was. You melt my heart, and you smell so good-I forgot what a lovely smell babies have!

4 Month Stats:
Weight: 17 pounds 14 ounces (99th percentile)
Length: 25 inches (67th percentile)
Head Circumference: 16 1/2 inches (68th percentile)
Diapers: size 2
Clothes: 6 month (some 9 month)
Pajamas: 6 month

  • She is a super happy girl unless she is tired or hungry
  • She will NOT take a paci-I am a human pacifier, which makes for long nights...
  • She is a great napper-takes 2 short naps in the morning and a long afternoon nap
  • OBSESSED with Brooklyn-she tracks and follows her everywhere...now if the feelings were mutual my life would be a little less crazy...
  • Not on any acid reflux medicine and she seems to be great!
  • Starting to like tummy time more
  • first plane ride to Florida
  • turned 4 months in Florida!
  • first trip to the beach!
  • Still sleeps in mommy's room, in the pack and play. She doesn't stay in the pack and play all night, she ends up in bed with me.  Will be such a hard habit to break...
  • Not a good night time sleeper...up every 2-3 hours to nurse. This girl loves to eat!
  • Reaches and grabs for toys
  • Loud noises do not bother her...she is used to Brooklyn being loud all day, she can sleep through any loud noise!
  • Found her hands!
  • Drools all the time!
LOVES:
  • Brooklyn
  • Watching t.v. (oops!)
  • Being held
  • Nursing
 HATES:
  • Being cold
  • Sleeping at night time
  •  Paci's
Slowly trying to get Molly on a schedule.  She wakes anywhere between 7-7:30am, and will nurse every 2.5-3 hours.  She is awake for 1.5 hours before wanting a nap.  She takes all naps in her swing in the living room. Put her in bed around 7:30pm, but she will get up every 2-3 hours in the night to nurse.

Molly fits in to our family perfectly! We all love her so much and we can't wait to see what the next month has in store for her!

Brooklyn-24 Months

On November 26, 2013 Brooklyn Paige turned 2 years old! WOW!

Hard to believe I have a 2 year old.  This is the last of the monthly updates for Brooklyn.  I will probably do an update when she is 2 1/2 and then again when she is 3.  My baby girl is growing up!

Molly-3 Months

Another month has passed, and it was the fastest one yet! I can't believe Molly is 3 months! It is true-time goes twice as fast with the second baby!

Brooklyn is FINALLY starting to like Molly! She will gently touch her, kiss her and show her toys! She will ask to hold her occasionally, but she still doesn't like to give her too much attention! I know some day they will gang up on me and I will wish I could go back to Brooklyn not liking Molly! Ha!

3 Month Stats (unofficial):
Weight: 15 pounds (guess)

Clothes: 3-6 month and 6 month
Diapers: size 2

  • Switched reflux medicine from Axid to Prevacid. Insurance does not cover it and it cost $92 for a month supply...
  • 12/27-first giggle at mommy!
  • Molly has great head control
  • She favors the right side of her head when she is laying down, so she has a flat spot on the right side!
  • Molly does NOT like tummy time!
  • She is very gassy and her gas smells horrible!
  • She is a huge fan of her swing and takes all of her naps in it.  It is very simple to put her down for a nap-swing and noise machine and she is out!
  • Molly found her hands and loves sucking on them!
  • She will NOT take a paci.  We have tried and tried but she will not take it!
  • Molly is a very easy baby and is very mellow and easy going-total opposite of her big sister!
  • Molly celebrated her first Christmas!

Molly-2 Months

Miss Molly Kate is 2 months old! (I am actually writing this on her 3rd month birthday, but it's better late than never, right?!)  I was keeping all of Molly's milestones and activities in the notes section on my phone.  Brooklyn stepped on my phone and I had to get a new one.  I did a back up of my broken phone before getting the replacement but for some reason my notes section did not save, so I lost all of the 2 month info I had-a little bummed about that.

2 Month Stats:
Weight: 14.2 pounds (99th percentile)
Height: 23 inches (75th percentile)
Head Circumference: 16 inches (70th percentile)

Clothes: 3 month
Diapers: Size 1-need to move to size 2

We have a big girl on our hands! We thought Brooklyn was big, Molly is bigger! I love chubby babies so I am not complaining!

  • Switched reflux medicine from Zantac to Axid
  • Hates tummy time!
  • Starting to be awake more and for longer stretches!
  • Has a cute, soft cry-I am sure this will change as she gets older
  • Can't decide if she likes to be swaddled or not.  Some nights we swaddle, others we don't.
  • Loves watching the tv!
  • Very mellow baby-I don't think she has much of a choice since she is the second child!

Molly-1 Month

Miss Molly Kate is 1 month old! That was a quick month! I know time is going to go 10 times faster than it did with Brooklyn! We are so excited to watch another little one grow and learn right in front of our eyes!

What has Molly been up to this month: (Brooklyn's 1st month update is here)

  • Molly's first doctors appointment was on 10/7
    • she got her tongue snipped-she was tongue tied and not nursing well.
    • she weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces at 4 days old!
    • she has a small heart murmur-we will continue to follow up! 80% of newborns have heart murmurs when they are born, most go away...
  • First outing was to Babies R Us
  • She is a very noisy nurser!
  • Her umbilical cord fell off on her 1 week birthday!
  • 10/15 was her second doctors appointment (2 week appointment):
    • weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces! Big girl!
    • heart murmur is GONE!! Thank you Jesus!!
  • On 10/22 we went to the doctor for acid reflux (just like big sister)
    • started baby zantac twice a day
  • Left eye started getting watery and green yucky stuff-at first we thought this was the first signs of a clogged tear duct, just like big sister.  Turns out, it was a virus Molly had. She was sick for about 2 weeks.  She had a yucky eye and a horrible stuffy nose.  It was very difficult for her to breathe.  We did a lot of suctioning and nursing was hard!
  • every day she is awake more and more, very alert with big eyes!
  • 1st Halloween, dressed up as a flower!
  • Mommy and daddy went out already, to a wedding! Nana watched both girls by herself!
  • When she cries she sounds like a dinosaur! Pterodactyl as daddy calls it!
  • So far, she is an easy baby...we will see what the next month brings!!

We love you Miss Molly and can't wait to watch you grow!!
